A community centre built around good food

The Natoaganeg Community Food Centre (CFC) is a Mi’kmaq-led space in New Brunswick where people come together around good food. Rooted in the belief that everyone deserves access to healthy, high-quality food, the CFC offers a welcoming place to grow, cook, share, and learn. Through hands-on programs, community members build skills, connect with one another, and gain confidence in making healthy choices - all while fostering a strong sense of belonging.

What is Food Insecurity?

Community Food Centre Programs

programs

All our programs aim to create an environment of respect and community leadership. We meet people where they’re at and work with them toward the changes they want to make.

  • Healthy food access: Community meals, affordable produce markets, and healthy food distribution programs increase access to fresh and nutritious food in a welcoming space where people can get connected to other supports and resources.
  • Food skills:Community kitchens, gardens, and after-school programs help people build the skills and confidence to grow, prepare, and sustain healthy eating habits for themselves and their families.
  • Education and engagement: Peer advocacy, training, and volunteer programs empower people to get involved, take action, and lead change in their communities.
